We believe the most important books are often the ones hardest to write — stories of identity, truth, and the courage it takes to put them on the page. Some stories need to be told. We help authors tell them.
For years, Mark Borrington believed the answer was simple. It was him.
If relationships felt difficult, if connection felt conditional, if something always seemed just out of reach — then surely he was the one who needed to change. So he adapted. He became more aware, more accommodating, more reliable. The one who carried, who fixed, who held things together.
But no matter how much he adjusted, something never quite felt right.
In this deeply reflective memoir, Mark explores the patterns that shaped his life — from childhood conditioning and hidden shame, to identity, relationships, and the quiet pressure of always being "the one who carries."
This is not a book about blame. It is a book about understanding. And ultimately, about letting go of the need to fix what was never yours to fix.

Mark Borrington is an organisational transformation specialist working across complex systems and leadership environments to support change, clarity, and sustainable performance.
Before this, he trained and worked as a paramedic — an experience that shaped both his professional path and his understanding of people under pressure. He volunteers as a Community First Responder and has a long-standing interest in psychology, behaviour, and the ways in which early environments shape identity.
Is It Me or Is It Them? is his first book.

"What stood out was the reflective tone throughout — especially the way Mark makes sense of events rather than just describing them. He's covered what trauma recovery is really about: learning to be yourself. And that's what really matters."
